South Dublin road closed after eight-car-collision

The road has since been reopened and the crash cleared.

AN EIGHT CAR pile up caused serious traffic delays in Dublin this afternoon, with a road having to be closed as a result.

AA Roadwatch reported that the Katharine Tynan Road was closed between the Belgard Road and Sylvan Drive due to the multi-car collision, which occurred at about noon.

Emergency services attended the scene.

Three fire engines from Dublin Fire Brigade and advanced paramedics from Tallaght Ambulance were present.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area entirely and to expect delays.

The road has since been reopened and the crash cleared.
